The Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 (mDP) Adapter allows you to connect your Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 enabled Mac or iPad to a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 device. Attach a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 external hard drive, RAID solution, dock, PCIe expansion chassis, and more.
The Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 (mDP) Adapter is bi-directional, which means you can use the adapter to connect a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 device to a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 enabled Mac running macOS Sierra or later.
You can also use the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter connect an Apple, LG, or other Thunderbolt-enabled display to via the Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports on your Mac or iPad.
SPECS
- Compatible with a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 enabled Mac or iPad. This configuration provides data transfer at Thunderbolt 2 speeds (up to 20Gb/s) but does not support notebook charging.
- USB-C devices, displays, and adapters that are not Thunderbolt enabled are not supported.
- Power delivery via Thunderbolt is not supported. Using this adapter with an Apple Thunderbolt Display requires an external power source.
- Does not support DisplayPort displays like the Apple LED Cinema Display or third-party DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort displays.
