Q: Will my system recognise the maximum RAM upgrade?: The maximum memory your OS will recognise (whether it be Windows, Mac OS, or Linux/Unix) depends on the version you are running. 32-bit operating systems (which most people use) will usually see (and utilise) somewhere between 3GB to 3.5GB, depending on the peripheral configuration and motherboard limitations. A 64-bit OS will recognise beyond 4GB. Read more.

Systems come standard with either DDR2-667 (KTM4982) or DDR2-800 (KTL2975).

When mixing the KTM4982 or the KTL2975, all installed memory will run at the slowest installed memory speed.

MODULES MAY BE INSTALLED ONE AT A TIME; however, they must be added in like pairs to take advantage of dual channel mode.

If 4GB is installed, the recognized memory may be reduced to 3.5GB or less (depending on system configuration and memory allocation).

Maximum configurations require a 64-bit operating system.
