This well manufactured cable is for interfacing a 2.5 inch U.2 SSD (such as the Intel 750 series or Samsung PM963/SM963/PM1725a with a PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 interface to a motherboard with a HD-Mini SAS (SFF-8643) port. Just mount your 2.5-inch SSD in the case, connect the U.2 (SFF-8639) connector to the U.2 port on the drive, the SFF-8643 connector to the Mini-SAS port on the motherboard, and the SATA power connector to a spare SATA power cable . Braid net tubing provides protection for the cable, while the 90cm length provides sufficient reach to place the SSD at various locations in the case.
*Important* - your motherboard needs a U.2 port to work with this cable
If your system does not have a HD-mini-SAS SFF-8643 (U.2) port then you may instead need a U.2 SFF-8639 to PCI-e 3.0 x4 Adapter Card with cable (requires a free PCIe port). Or if you have a free 'M' key M.2 socket, use a U.2 (SFF-8639) to M.2 M-Key NVMe Adapter card with cable.
