Is it good value?

OK, lets talk numbers. There is the MX500 and the BX500. The BX500 is a little bit slower but not by much, less than 5%. It has a 3 year warranty not a 5 year warranty. This is just marketing. Your drive will last longer than 3 years, it has no moving parts, it a 5th generation SATA SSD, there are no more innovations, you can't build a better drive.
So you sacrifice some speed and warranty, you get a much better price which makes this our best value SSD we sell.

Most customers want to clone their current drive onto a new SSD. Acronis software ships with this SSD, is compatible with Windows 10 and 11. For Windows 7 and 8 we recommend Macrium X . For Apple Mac users we recommend Carbon Copy Cloner (14 day free trial) or SuperDuper!

If you have a desktop that allows you to install two drives, you can clone internally. For everyone else, you will need an external case or an external cable, commonly called a clone cable. This is a must have accessory to make a clone go butter smooth.

The procedure for a PC is: use clone cable to attach new SSD to PC via USB port. Install Acronis, clone from old drive to new drive. When finished install the SSD and reboot.
The procedure for a Mac is: use clone cable to attach new SSD to PC via USB port. Install CCC or SuperDuper! and clone from old drive to new drive. When finished install the SSD and reboot.
